Rising product temperatures, ice building on the evaporator or floor, compressors running non-stop, and water where it should not be are all fault signatures. Slow drift matters as much as sudden failure: a room that recovers slowly after deliveries is telling you capacity is marginal.
Refrigerant releases, electrical faults and CO2 or ammonia plant are specialist hazards, never open a sealed refrigeration circuit or bypass a tripping breaker to keep a unit running. If stock has spent unknown time above safe temperature, treat it as a food-safety decision, not just a refrigeration one.
